Hurdling A Log On A Whitewater Run With a SUP This video was shot from a gopro camera from the front of a Stride Airlite HD. This was during the Tim Gavin Downriver Race at the 2009 Harpers Ferry Whitewater Festival. The race was on the Shenendoah River at Millville WV to the bottom of Whitehorse rapid on the Potomac in Virginia. The run has a number of really good waves to surf on both rivers. The other day a saw a log hanging out into the river at the top of a rapid... Important note: Logs in rivers can be Strainers (meaning the branches strain the water), thus a very very dangerous feature...most logs in rivers are strainers and I would recommend staying away from them. This log in particular was just suspended and did not have branches under water and was not a strainer where it was jumped. I inspected this log when I passed it the day before. Enjoy.
