The Raleigh/Durham is and area of beautiful lakes and rivers that make for perfect places to experience a Stand Up Paddleboarding adventure. Falls Lake and the Wake Forest reservior feature calm water with scenic shoreline which offer an optimal environment for having an exciting time learning how to paddleboard with friends and family.
During this stand up paddleboard adventure course, a Stride instructional guide will teach the basics of kayaking and stand up paddleboarding, cover on water safety, and lastly you will have the ability to explore some of the beauty of the surrounding waterway.
The Paddleboarding adventure will start with teaching the following:
-Getting familiar with the parts of a Stride Airlite HD stand up paddleboard.
-Basic safety precautions when getting on and off a stand up paddleboard.
-How to wear your pfd -On water safety
-Paddling in the seated kayak position, paddling on your knees, and standing up paddling.
-How to get back on the board in deep water.
-Effective forward stroke, back stroke, sweep stroke, J-stroke.
-How to paddle forward, spin, stop, brace, turn, and move sideways
-Last but not least everyone will have the opportunity to walk the nose of the board, just like surfing a wave on a long board!
-This Stand Up Paddleboard course will cover all the above and more.
Stride's professional instructors are personally trained by Luke Hopkins, a national champion kayaker and Stand Up Paddleboard professional. The two hour lesson is performed on the Stride Airlite HD, a soft-surfaced paddleboard that can quickly transform into a kayak with an attachable seat. This aquatic experience will give you the feeling of walking on water!
This adventure course is offered at Falls Lake and the Wake Forest reservior. When you call to schedule you will be informed of where your lesson will take place. All locations are suitable for total beginners.

All gear is supplied for this 2 hour lesson.

You must weigh between 80-280 pounds, and be able to swim, and be in reasonably good health.

Trips will typically run every Sat and/or Sun from May to October 1st, weather, and water conditions permitting. The Cost is $99 per person and you must call to schedule (540) 315-4441.

 May 5th and 6th: 10-12AM, 1-3PM, 4-6PM
May 12th and 13th: 10-12AM, 1-3PM, 4-6PM
May 19th and 20th: 10-12AM, 1-3PM, 4-6PM
May 26th and 27th: 10-12AM, 1-3PM, 4-6PM

You must call (540) 315-4441 to schedule. Taking reservations now! You may cancel/reschedule up to one week prior to your scheduled lesson. No refunds will be given to cancellations within one week of your scheduled lesson- NO EXCEPTIONS ! Only credit towards a future lesson will be applied.
